Effects of the European Green Deal and
investment potentials
in the market for heating installations
November 2020
The market for heating systems is characterised by a high degree of dynamism, driven by ever-increasing customer requirements, the digitalisation of processes and product systems and, above all, increasing regulation in conjunction with purchase incentives. The significant reduction of CO2 emissions remains the long-term goal of the German government and therefore requires the substitution of fossil heating systems by new regenerative solutions in the building envelope.
In this study S&B Strategy has analysed the effects of the European Green Deal and investment potential in the market for heating installations. Current developments and trends on the market and customer side were examined and lifetime cost analyses were carried out in order to identify key challenges in the market and to formulate solutions for investors and companies.
